Hello and welcome to the PRE DAYS of the Curiosity Reset

Before we set off,
I’d like you to gather a few companions.
Nothing elaborate.
In fact,
you may already have most of them somewhere in your home.

Your journal
I love working in a small accordion book, made from folded paper. It becomes a little travel journal that slowly unfolds with every day of the Reset.
You can easily make one yourself from a sheet of sturdy A3 paper,
cut lengthwise and folded into pages, as shown below.
Of course, if you already have a sketchbook or journal you love, that’s perfectly fine too.

A pencil
Nothing special is needed.A softer pencil is lovely to work with, but honestly, whatever you have nearby will do.

An eraser
Not because mistakes need to disappear.
Simply because sometimes a drawing asks for a second chance.

A waterproof fineliner
I love using a very fine 0.2 mm pen for the first delicate lines.
Later, I sometimes add a few stronger accents with a slightly thicker one.
But don’t let the perfect pen stop you from beginning.

Something to attach your discoveries
A little tape.A glue stick.Whatever you have at home.

Colour
This is entirely up to you.
A small box of watercolours.
Acrylic markers.
Oil pastels.
Coloured pencils.
I’ve used them all.
Depending on my mood, one will quietly ask to come along that day.

A pen
For the words that will slowly find their place beside your colours.

And finally…
There are three things you cannot buy in an art shop.
Your senses.
Your curiosity.
And your willingness to trust your own creativity.
Bring those with you.
They are, without question, the most important tools of all.
